Resource Directory Policy
The Vermont 2-1-1 Database is publicly available through the website. Requests for a listing from the 2-1-1 Database to be used in a printed directory are discouraged. Produced directories are outdated as soon as they are printed. At Vermont 2-1-1, we are constantly updating our database. The best way to get up-to-date and accurate information is to call the 2-1-1 number or use the searchable on-line database at www.vermont211.org. By calling, Vermonters will not just get a phone number. Our trained call specialists will help callers anticipate the process of asking for help. Further, our call staff are aware of many nuances within the social service system.
Certain exceptions apply:
Directories can be run for project specific requests (i.e. A list of food shelves statewide for service analysis.)
Directories can be run for community partners, or agencies that share a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with 2-1-1.
2-1-1 is unable to customize portions of the database in order to format directories.
Technology, software and staffing are geared to the end user seeking services. We encourage you, and your patrons, to dial 2-1-1 for assistance. The service is confidential and available 24/7.
